Client

The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is the public agency responsible for attracting investments and enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain's investment climate.

Brief

It’s not every week we’re asked to help an entire nation express their identity. But having undertaken extensive research and strategic consultancy, the Bahrain EDB asked Rose to help them begin changing perceptions of the country, for both domestic and international audiences, to reflect its changing reality.

Solution

Having already conducted a significant research project, culminating in their new brand strategy, the Bahrain EDB commissioned Rose to create the resulting brand book, as a guide to Bahrain's new strategic brand positioning. Rose designed a sophisticated but highly accessible brand book, created for potential investors in Bahrain and businesses considering relocation or expansion into the Kingdom. In addition, Rose created a second publication promoting the benefits of Bahrain to ex-patriate professionals and their families, from leading financial, commercial and industrial centres around the world.

Result

In the year following the brand positioning, Bahrain saw significant economic growth. At a time when many global economies were facing recession, Bahrain’s GDP increased 6.2% from the previous year to $26.803 billion¹, and the country was named the world’s fastest-growing financial centre by the City of London’s Global Financial Centres Index.
