Music Patron is the UK charity connecting composers with patrons to provide sustainable funding for new music. The charity introduces composers to music lovers, who can provide the essential financial support to enable the creation of new work, thereby helping to secure the future of music.
Music Patron highlighted that 53% of composers earn less than £10,000 per year from composition work, and that more than half a million monthly Spotify streams would be required for an artist to even make minimum wage. Music Patron wanted to bring this reality to the attention of music lovers, and highlight the need for charitable support for composers, to ensure they can continue to create new music in the future. Having originally Beta tested and prototyped the organisation and its proposition a year earlier, Music Patron recognised they required a strong brand identity to garner the attention the charity required, to help them successfully connect with their target audiences. So Music Patron asked Rose to help them create a distinctive and confident brand identity to appeal to both potential patrons, as well as composers in need of support.
