Solution
Of all the global trends and influences that have shaped today’s business and social environments, technology has been the most transformational. It is constantly changing how we live and work and continues to open up new opportunities for people everywhere. As the theme of the conference intended to examine technology’s impact on the challenges and possibilities for women in business, the conference identity and event materials required an innovative visual language to reflect the breadth of potential topics. With this in mind, Rose proposed using the visualisation of data – infosthetics – to reflect Deutsche Bank’s position as a pioneer in the use of technology in the financial world. Rose collaborated with renowned data scientist Dr. Yifan Hu, using his data visualisations to create an abstract, futuristic, interconnected visual language for the event branding and conference materials.
Result
Over 1,400 people attended the event at the Barbican Centre, London. Prior to the event, Deutsche Bank had a self-imposed challenge of boosting the female proportion of senior managers to 25% by 2018. Following the Women in European Business conference, the percentage of women in senior management positions (Directors and Managing Directors) at Deutsche Bank increased to 18% and female representation in all officer positions at the firm also increased to 30.3%.¹
